42. Victory

Chandralekha POV

Clash

The sound of our swords reverberated in the hall. He is powerful, and I know he derives this power from his father, the Devil, but I am no less in this battle. I derive my power from Raghav, my husband, who is a devi upasak. We are unbeatable.

Thinking so, I applied all my strength and his sword began lowering. I knew that he is cunning, so I had already brought a dagger with me, that was attached to my waistband. I drew it out with my free hand, and slit the side of his neck, a stream of blood gushed out of it.

"Ahhhhh!"

He screamed, and panicked. That is when his grip slackened on his sword. I quickly attacked his thigh with my sword, but he managed to leave a scar on the side of my waist. I held his sword that had fallen off his hands and ambushed his chest region.

He managed to bend backwards, and snatched my dagger from me. He targetted my abdomen, and it scared me so much that I immediately turned around. He held my bun from behind, and made me look at him.

"Enough of it!"

He groaned, and swung the dagger in the air before landing it on my abdomen. I recalled my moments with Raghav for the one last time, when something extremely unexpected happened.

A bright yellow light emerged from my navel, that fell directly into his eyes.

"AHHHHHHHH!"

He screamed, as if he had lost his eyesight. He left me with jerk, but I managed to balance myself, and kept staring at his devastating state. The beam of light was burning his skin, vapours emitted from it. What on earth was this?

It stopped after a while, and he fell on the ground. I quickly placed my palm over the wound on my waist, where the dagger had left a deep mark, and moved to him. Placing the tip of my sword on the junction of his collar bone, I ripped it down till his navel, earning painful screams from him.

I quickly picked up my dagger, and attacked both of his wrist, plunging the knife into it multiple times. My breath had escalated, and I was genuinely worried for my baby now. I don't know where Raghav is, and how did I get this strength, but I managed to attack him perfectly today.

The memories of Sukanya playing with me, and Roop flaunting her fighting abilities before me, hit my mind and I crouched on the floor sobbing miserably.

His painful groans were filling the chamber when I removed my palm from over my face to see his next move. His palms, bedecked with dark red blood, rested on the floor, trembling uncontrollably. He groaned like a devastated lion, and managed to stand. I instantly held the sword kept beside me, and left a deep scar on one of his thighs, making him sit back on the floor.

"For once, my pretty rose! Just once! Let.....let me sit on that lion throne...my life is there. All my desires stay there. Please!"

He implored me, those shivering hands joined before me. I flared in confusion, and nodded at his words.

"Go!"

I said in a low commanding voice, and he turned around to go there. Since his one leg was injured he was walking like a handicapped, towards the throne. I kept observing his gestures because he is unpredictable.

He turned around, and looked at me with tear filled eyes.

"Go and sit there!"

I instructed him in the Queen's voice, and he nodded before continuing his walk. He began climbing up the stairs now that would lead him to the throne, when I picked the bunch of arrows that was kept beside me, and took out an arrow from it.

He never listened to me. He killed everyone I ever loved, and today I will make him realise what it feels like to lose something which is just few steps away from you.

Placing it on the bow, I stretched the string, targetting his other thigh. He was about to turn around so that he could sit on the throne when I released the string, and the bow struck his healthy thigh from behind.

"AHHHHHHHH!"

He shrieked, and fell down on the ground, his head landed on the armrest of the throne, and began bleeding.

I was flaring angrily when he pivoted his head into my direction.

"Wh....why?" He asked, his eyes incensed red.

"The throne belongs to my husband - by birth and by rights. You have already polluted it more than its capacity. You don't deserve it anymore."

I declared, the life nurturing inside me was providing me immense strength at this moment, and I didn't know how it was possible.

The faded footsteps of the army men invaded my ears, and I realised that they were all my people.

"My Queen!"

Some of them paid salutations to me, but I didn't budge. My gaze was fixed at a devastated Yuddhjeet. This was the most awaited sight for me and I never knew that I would do this to him. I smirked when I heard Abhimanyu's voice.

"My Queen!"

He spoke, and that is when I turned around to see them.

"Capture him, your Queen commands you to take him into prison until your King arrives."

I commanded the men, and all of them nodded unanimously. Abhimanyu and other men walked to him, grabbed him by his neck, and tied chains and shackles around him. His pupils began turning red as he glared at me, but I ain't scared of him anymore.

"Your husband and child will pay for this."

He threatened me in a broken voice, but I didn't budge, nor did I show him any signs of being frightened, but in reality, I was scared regarding the absence of my husband.

I don't know where he has disappeared, and how will I find him.

"Ye nagar ab hamara hai. Hum, Maharani Chandralekha, sarvottamam adarsho se susajjit Maharaj Vishwaroop ki beti, aur samast veero me veer, Maharaj Adhiraj Raghav ki patni, Vijaygarh par apni vijay ki ghoshna karte hai."

"The City is ours now. I, Queen Chandralekha, daughter of the most revered King, Maharaj Vishwaroop, and wife of the mighty King Raghav, declare our victory over Vijaygarh."

The army men bent their knees to me, while Yuddhjeet was being dragged out of the hall. People from the city came to their main gates, and terrace to witness his dragging. I was walking with a few men, in front of him, covered in blood with a few wounds adorning my body.

Ranveer bhaiya and Indrajeet bhaiya applauded to my victory, but my entire focus was anchored on my husband who couldn't be found anywhere.

"Tyrant!"

The people roared, and threw stones at Yuddhjeet.

"Tyrant!" Even the women and children began hitting him.

"Maharani Chandralekha ki Jai!"

"Hail our Queen, Chandralekha!"

They all began hailing my name, and I finally climbed up the stage where my father was executed. He was hauled to that place mercilessly.

"I, your Queen Chandralekha, promises you that you all will have the golden era under the leadership of my husband, King Raghav. I will soon find him for you all."

I declared, my eyes widened with zeal and anger, and that is when I heard Yuddhjeet guffawing at me. The people were quiet, silently listening to our conversations.

"Hahahaha! You can never find him now."

He groaned angrily, but thd depth in his voice was dangerous. What did he do to my husband?

Raghav POV

I was slowly getting engulfed into the pool of miseries, where lust, anger, attachment, jealousy, ego and greed prevailed. I don't want to get drowned in this ocean, but someone was calling me from beneath.

Who is he, I cannot decide, but the voice sounds familiar.

"Raghav!"

He shouts, and within a few calls, I make out that he none other than Maharaj Shauryaditya - the King of Awadh. How can he be here?

"I'm trapped, my King! Save me!"

He yells to call me out, but what if this is also an illusion? I suddenly recall the Queen of Awadh, dressed in white, who had lost her will to live because her husband was dead. I need to save him.

I leave myself free so that I drown deep and bring him out, but he stays still, sitting idle with his legs folded to his chest. His back faces me, and I'm smelling suspicion over here.

"Shauryaditya!"

I sibilate his name, and he pivots his head into my direction. His face resembles Yuddhjeet now, his eyes incensed red. I quickly search for my sword, but it is already lost. What the hell?

Chandralekha POV

Leaving Yuddhjeet tied in the tent, I walked out to search for my husband, but he is nowhere found.

Ranveer and Indrajeet bhaiya also came along with me. Abhimanyu was all of us, but no other army men knew how devastated we were at this moment.

After walking for half a mile into the forest, we could find something shining. I ran to it, even when my brothers tried to stop me because I'm pregnant. I saw his sword lying in the mud, the intricated patterns engraved on it shone under the moonlight.

I ran my fingers through it, my eyes filled with tears. All vicious thoughts ran across my mind, and inhaled deeply closing my eyes to ponder upon him.

"Chandani!"

I heard a soft whisper, and tried my best to locate where it came from. The sound was heard by me again, and now I opened my eyes urgency.

"Dig it!"

I commanded my brothers and Abhimanyu, pointing right beneath his sword.
