10. Raghav's wrath 🩸

Raghav POV

Everything had changed within few days. It was just few days ago when Maharaj had asked to visit our ports. He wanted me to investigate the source of illegal arms trafficking. However, I knew it was Vijaygarh, but I stayed there to find proper evidences against them.

The chaos that erupted there in this morning troubled me and I realised that our Maharaj was summoned at Vijaygarh's court. I had mounted my horse and travelled to Devgarh to visit Maharaj, but poor me got late.

Here I was listening to my brother telling me about Maharaj's execution and Princess Rooplekha's kidnapping. I was shocked and had started feeling weak on my knees. It became difficult for me to maintain balance, but I had to stand. I had to be strong for the princesses.

I adviced Ranveer to stay at Devgarh and investigate upon this case and I mounted on my horse again to rush towards Vijaygarh. It was night when I started moving away from Devgarh. The morning was one prahar (3 hours) away. It took 3 prahars to reach Vijaygarh from Devgarh, but I managed to complete this journey in 2 prahars only. I was late morning already when I crossed the borders of Vijaygarh. Throughout the journey, multiple thoughts were running into my mind.

My Maharaj Vishwaroop didn't deserve this at all. He was one of the best kings that I had known since was born. He was honest, loyal and was always concerned about his people, his praja.

He was concerned about women education. He always promoted women empowerment. How could he do such a sin?

And coming to the princesses, princess Chandralekha was my moonlight. If destiny had united us I would have called her Chandani, but she had rejected me completely and she was right. I was just a son of a soldier. I know I wasn't his real son and that makes me even more ineligible for her. Someone whose identity was unknown couldn't get along with a Rajkumari. Chandralekha had turned stubborn in the past few days, but I knew she was naive. She was a sweet, loyal, talented, charming and innocent girl. She was a dreamer and wants her life to be life a dream; a fairytale to be more precise. I don't know what she must be going through right now. Her father was slaughtered and she was there. I don't know whether or not she witnessed that scene herself. I wish she hadn't!

The little Princess Rooplekha was my sister. She called me bhaiya and tied Rakhi to me. She is stubborn, childish and playful, but she was becoming mature under my training. Yes! She was learning to fight from me. I could hardly manage time for her in the past few days and she was upset with me regarding that. I had bought a small dagger for her as an apology gift, but my little baby was gone. She was taken forcefully to that bloody Kingdom. I would everyone over there if they hurt her, but how would I save her? I had no one with me.

While my body ran on the horse towards the palace, my mind was busy comprehending these running thoughts. I had reached the entrance of the palace and to my shock, there was no one around it. No shopkeepers, no public, it appeared as it was a mourning day. I could see two guards standing on either side of the Palace gate carrying their spears.

I rode off my horse and walked towards the entrance. There were some stairs and then a stage like area and then the main gate. I climbed up the stairs and looked at the side. Dry blood was spilled on the floor of that stage like area. My heart skipped a beat realising it was my King's blood.

I walked towards it and and bent down to sit on my knees. I looked at the dark red dried blood and my eyes became teary. I touched it with the fingers of both of my hands and brought those fingers to my forehead and touched it. I closed my eyes and remembered all the good lessons I've learnt from the king. He was like a father to me. My tears started rolling down my cheeks. I adjoined my hands together and paid salutations to my King - the innocent king who was executed.

My eyes were closed and I could listen to faded footsteps that were approaching me. I opened my eyes and looked into the direction of the main entrance of the palace. The gates were already open and Vijaygarh's army was approaching me. They came outside. They were roughly 500 in number. One of them announced in a heavy and loud voice

"He is the head commander of Devgarh's army. Samrat wants him - DEAD OR ALIVE!"

And this was it. I glared at their direction. My eyes had turned red because of anger and melancholy. I was broken and I knew how ruthless I become when I am broken.

I stood up and took out my big and heavy sword from its sheath in one go. A few of them moved a little back as they knew my wrath, but many approached me altogether carrying their swords in their hands.

I kept standing in my place and took position and they attacked me. Clashing sound erupted in the atmosphere and one after the other I started piercing each of them. I ripped most of them from head to abdomen. Many throats got slit by me. Many chests got pierced by my sword. I got many wounds too. My biceps, chest, cheek and thighs got severe cuts, but there was no stopping for me today.

I saw more of them coming from the inside of the palace. They were more in number this time. I was totally drenched in blood by now and most of that blood was not mine. I killed all of them who had arrived in the first shift. The second shift attacked me unison and I defeated them single handedly. I kept slaughtering them until the last one got killed me. I screamed, I kicked and I ripped them apart. I had turned into a monster by now. My energy was drained, but there was a flow in me that did not want to stop. I saw more of them coming and I fought and killed again.

They kept attacking me like this. One shift after the other and each shift had more soldiers than the previous one. It was about to get dark now. I was tired, thirsty and hurgry. I knew this was not going to stop. They wanted me. I saw the Samrat standing on the top of his palace and looking at me. I glared at him for a few moments only and I could see fear on his face.

They wanted to imprison me and I knew what would happen after that. The prisoners here are given drugs that hinder their strength and immune system. Such prisoners become ill easily and they die. Such death looks natural and no one questions the Royals for this. I couldn't let that happen to me. I had to live, not because I wanted to live, but because I had to protect the Princesses. They had already lost their father. I couldn't die and let them be here with these demons.

I ran from there. I was impossible for them to kill me. They tried their best to catch me, but even that was impossible for them. The silver part of my sword had become completely red by now. Fresh droplets of blood were dripping from it.

I reached my horse and mounted. He was since last night, but just like me he was also a warrior. He ran at his greatest speed. I could feel the soldiers following me for some time until they lost me. My entire body was covered with small or deep cuts. These wounds were aching badly, but the scar that was given to my heart was aching worst. No physical pain could surpass it.

My horse kept running until we reached the lower ends of Him regions. I wanted to visit my Gurukul. It was located in the Him region.

Yuddhjeet POV

I was returning to my chamber from the roof of my palace. I had never seen such a warrior in my entire life. I had heard about him, but I had no idea about his stamina until today. One fourth of my army men had attacked him that too in the groups of a thousand at a time and he killed all of them. After all this he could walk, he ran back towards his horse, he didn't faint or passed out in this process. What does he eat?

He had passed a fiery glare at me when I was upstairs. His eyes spoke fire, anger, ruthlessness, roughness, masculinity, revenge and what not. He could rip me apart today if he had a chance. Luckily, I didn't give him this chance.

The execution had taken place yesterday and it was turning dark today. Princess Chandralekha had not gained her senses yet. She had fainted yesterday at the site of execution. Fuck! I want her to wake up. There is so much that I want to show her.

"Princess Chandralekha is conscious now." One of the junior physicians came before me, bowed to me and told me.

Ahh! My slave has woken up. I immediately rushed to her room. She was not given any chambers now. I had kept her in an old room of my palace. It was unclean and had spider webs all across its walls. I reached there and I saw her sitting there with a glass of water in her hand.

She looked at me and her expressions changed. It seemed she was angry and hurt. She didn't say anything and I approached her

"I've a gift for you, my Queen." I said with a smirk.

She looked at me with suspicion. I clapped two times and Chetan arrived with a plate that was covered with a red cloth. I took the plate from him and kept it in front of her. I removed the red cloth and looked at her face.

Her eyes widened and she screamed at top of her lungs.

"Nooooooooooooooooooo!"

It was Vishwaroop's slaughtered head. The area around its mouth had dried blood stuck to it and it had turned pale in colour. I grabbed it from the hair and lifted it up.

"Aaahhhhahhhhhaahahaaa!" She started crying badly when she saw me lifting up her father's head in my hand.

"Hahahaha!" I laughed like a demon and shaking that head in my hand.

Her cries intensified and she managed to say in between her cries

"Why the hell did you do that to me? He was innocent. You'll pay for this."

The last statement hit me hard. I will pay for this? How could she say that? I threw that away and it fell somewhere in the corner of that shitty room. She gave a shocked expression and tried to stand and run behind that head. I held her hand midway and glared at her. She looked at me too and tried get off my hold. She was struggling when I left her with a jerk and said

"My mother is a very nice woman. She taught me good manners and one of those manners say that a King should not hit his Queen."

I stopped for a while and looked at Chetan to continue

"Chetan, please do me the favours."

I took a few staps backwards and Chetan approached her. Before she could understand anything Chetan slapped her left cheek so tightly that she fell on the ground with a thud.

She tried to hold her slapped cheek, but hissed in pain while touching it. I could see blood at the corner of her lips. Her cheek had also got a wound because of Chetan's ring. Tears had falling her eyes.

"Tch, tch, tch..your beauty got ruined Princess! Such wounded face cannot become the Queen of Vijaygarh."

I leaned forward to bring my face closer to hers and said in a threatening tone

"I break the alliance of my marriage!"

She lifted her face and looked at me with teary eyes. I stepped back and straightened myself and signalled Chetan to come with me.

I reached Amar's chamber that now belonged to Chetan and went to its store room area. I saw a trunk lying over there and smirked. I asked Chetan to carry that trunk to my chamber.

We reached our chamber and it was around midnight when I asked an attendee to get Chandralekha to my chamber.

Raghav POV

With all the strength that was left in me I rushed to the Him regions. I knew my horse was very tired by now, but I had many questions in my mind.

I reached the entrance of my Gurukul and came down of my horse. I saw some young boys with the horses there and I asked them to feed mine. They took my horse with them. I went inside. I was midnight so I couldn't dare to enter my Guruji's kuti. I turned back to return when I heard my Guruji calling my name. I turned towards the kuti and went inside it.

My Guruji was a blessed man. He was a devotee and he could sense auras. He could read past and future of people just by meditating for some time that was the reason why I had come here to visit him. I wanted answers, but I didn't know the questions.

"Kaho Putra!"

"Say Son!"

He asked me with his eyes closed and he was sitting with his leg crossed as he was meditating.

"Gurudev! Why? Why did my Maharaj die like that? He was a pure soul. And his daughters? What is happening with them? How do I save them?" I asked in a tensed voice

"Shadyantra hua hai! Bheeshan shadyantra! Tumhare Maharaj to kewal ek choti si ahuti hai. Is khel me abhi bohot Bali di jayengi."

"This is a conspiracy! Entangled conspiracy! Your Maharaj was just a small sacrifice. Many sacrifices will be made in this game." He spoke while his eyes were closed.

Before I could ask further he continued

"KHYATI! Khyati is the organiser of this game. I can see a dark black aura around her. She will summon him on this new moon."

I could see his brows getting thinned while he spoke these words and suddenly he opened his eyes wide. He looked at my direction and stood up. I took a step backwards as it was scary for me. He turned towards me and took a step towards me.

He pointed his index finger at me and spoke in an authoritative tone

"TUM ANT KAROGE US DAAYAN KA."

"YOU WILL BE THE DEATH OF THAT WITCH."

I was taken aback by his words. What did he mean? He went back and sat again in his previous position. New moon was one day away. Who was Khyati going to summon? What game was she playing?

Urgggghhh

My head started aching when I heard Gurudev's voice again

"Kashi jao Putra. Wohi milenge tumhe tumhare prashno ke uttar."

"Go to Varanasi, son. You'll find your answers there."

Chandralekha POV

An attendee arrived in the small dirty room where I was kept and told me

"Samrat wants to see you in his chamber Princess."

I was still struggling to accept was happening with me. I wanted it to be a nightmare. I wanted to wake up from this only to realise that everything was normal. I wanted to hug my father. I wanted to laugh and play with Sukanya and I still didn't know where the hell she was. I had slapped myself many times to wake up, but this was my reality now. I had lost my father and his honour too. I wanted to die, but I had to survive. I had to live for my baby Roop. She must have gone through a lot in these two days. My palace must have turned chaotic by now. I wanted to hug both Sukanya and Roop.

"Princess, please come with me soon or I'll get killed." The attendee repeated herself and I looked at her.

I realised she was right. Samrat could actually kill her if I got late. I gathered all my strength to stand up, but my body had become weak by now. I was not given any food. My throat was dry, but no one gave me water. I wanted to ask for it, but there was no one whom I could ask for anything now, not even this attendee who was standing before me as I was labelled as a traitor's daughter and this was my punishment.

I started following the attendee while keeping my eyes low. It was a long way and I could hear many servants discussing about me as I passed them. Some were talking ill about my father while others were showing pity on my condition. I was feeling like I would faint, but I reached his chamber before that.

It was magnificent and the attendee went inside before me to announce my presence. I was called inside and I entered the chamber. It was a magnificent chamber. It had large gold and diamond chandeliers hanging on its upper walls. A big wooden table was placed at the centre and it had metal work at its borders too. Four couches were placed surrounding the table. This must be the meeting area of his chamber. He was sitting in one of those couches. He was starting at me and I immediately lowered my gaze. He stood up and walked towards me. My heartbeats were racing as I knew he could do anything with me right now. He stopped just an inch apart from me and I could feel him staring at me hungrily. He turned towards the attendee who had brought me here and walked to her.

"Who is she?" He asked the attendee while pointing his index finger at me.

I looked at her with side eye and she was literally shivering. Her face had turned pale and she struggled to speak

"Pr...prin..... princess."

He immediately cupped her cheeks tightly and she her balance a little.

"SHE IS MY SLAVE! NOT A PRINCESS ANYMORE!" He screamed at her and a shiver ran through my spine as his voice was too loud to endure.

Before I could understand anything, he took out his dagger and within a fraction of seconds he slit her throat with it.

"Aaannnhhhhhhhhhhh!" I screamed at top of my lungs and some droplets of blood fell on me.

She collapsed on the floor. Blood was oozing out of her neck and her mouth. I jumped back and fell on the ground with a thud. I carresed my cheek and brought the hand in front of my eyes only to see blood on that.

Tears got filled up in my eyes and palmed my face and burst into cries. How the hell could I fall for such a man? Why didn't I listen to my father when he was concerned about me? Why did I scold Raghav for telling me the truth? How could I be so crazy after someone? He was a monster. I wanted to run away from here so badly right now.

I felt him removing my palms from my face and I looked at him with fear in my eyes. His gaze was intense when he said

"Don't waste your tears for a normal attendee, Pretty rose. I will give you a proper reason to shed these pearls." He said taking a drop of my tears on his index finger.

He clapped two times and the soldier that had slapped me a few time ago arrived carrying a huge trunk.

"Open it!" Samrat ordered him and he did it.

"Come with me, Pretty rose." He said and stood up. I could sense something very wrong. I stood up and walked to the trunk.

My eyes widened and a loud scream came out of my mouth when I saw Sukanya's dead body in it. It was covered in blood and same paste was applied on it. It seemed the paste had slowed down the body's decomposition.

"KANYAAAAAAA!" I screamed and fell on the ground while my hand remained on the edge of the trunk.

I kept sobbing and Samrat sat on the couch with a drink. He was laughing and those laughs were monstrous.

Khyati POV

It was the new moon night. I retired to my chamber and removed all my accessories, jewelleries and attire in front of the mirror. I looked at my beautiful and sexy body with an expressionless face.

The black gown was already kept on the dressing area and I wore it. It was like a bathing gown with three knots in the front.

I took a fire torch in my hand and headed towards the most private area of my garden. This garden was attached to my chamber and no one was allowed to visit it.

I kept the fire torch aside and started digging the ground with my hands. The golden box was placed just an inch below. I opened it and took out the required ingredients to begin the ritual.

I took out a glass bottle from it that had fresh blood. It was Amar's blood. Every time I killed my prey they turned pale because their blood got collected in this bottle under the effect of my spells. I smiled looking at it and started making the geometrical pattern with it which was necessary to invoke HIM.

After drawing it with my palm, I lied down on it and started chanting the spells of that foreign language that were taught to me years ago.

I felt a black smoke erupting in the air and lifted my head up and supported myself on my shoulders. The black smoke started taking a humanly shape and widened my legs while continuing those chantings.

The smoke solidified as a human with two horns on his head on each side and red eyes which a jet black body. His eyes were staring at me hungrily as he was ready to devour me. I looked at him and muttered in slow and sensual voice

"MASTER!"
